League and Tournament Play

League Play

Pulaski Softball’s recreational leagues offer a fun and supportive experience for girls of all skill levels, from 4K beginners learning the basics of tee ball to high school athletes competing in area leagues. Our in-house program runs through 6th grade, providing players with a local, community-focused environment where they can build confidence, develop skills, and enjoy the game alongside their friends. Older divisions compete in external leagues, giving players the opportunity to challenge themselves against broader competition while representing Pulaski with pride.

Tournament Teams

Pulaski tournament teams typically compete in a minimum of four tournaments each season—three or more away events and at least one home tournament. These tournaments give athletes valuable experience and exposure to higher-level competition against teams from across Northeast Wisconsin. In addition to tournament play, teams also participate in weekday league games: grade school levels compete in the Badgerland League (with travel as far as New London), while high school teams play in leagues organized near Preble and Allouez. See Tournament Team Participation Policy and other details at the bottom of this page.

Each family is required to fulfill their responsibility to volunteer in concessions and/or field work. A post-dated check deposit is required on uniform pick up day. For families who fulfill their responsibility, the post-dated check deposit will not be cashed and the check will be shredded.

Details for each recreational league division and tournament team details are listed below.

Divisions

4K/K Tee Ball

Ages: 4 & 5

Introduce players to the fundamentals of softball, including learning positions, proper hitting form, base running, throwing, catching, fielding, and making outs. The focus is on instruction and development, with no scores kept.

1st & 2nd Grade Coach Pitch

Ages: 6 & 7

Teach athletes the fundamentals of softball with an emphasis on active participation, sportsmanship, and skill development. Players learn safety procedures, batting, throwing, fielding, base running, positions, basic rules, and team communication, while being introduced to the game in a supportive environment.

3rd & 4th Grade League

Ages: 8 & 9

The league will focus on developing the skill level of all participants while creating a positive environment for players and families. Games are played under 10U rules, giving athletes the chance to learn the game in a supportive setting while preparing for the next step at 12U, where players transition to full player-pitch.

5th & 6th Grade League

Ages: 10 & 11

Emphasize teaching and playing by official 12U softball rules, helping athletes master the fundamentals needed for success at higher levels. This division marks the important transition to full player-pitch, with no coach pitch allowed, and introduces more advanced rules, strategies, and positional play. The focus is on developing confidence, game awareness, and teamwork while maintaining a positive and supportive environment for players and families. Serving as the bridge to 14U+, high school, and ultimately WIAA competition, the 12U level prepares athletes for the next step in their softball journey.

7th & 8th Grade Fox River League

Ages: 12 & 13

This league is designed for players who are preparing for high school softball or who simply want to enjoy the game recreationally. The focus is on continued skill development and game experience in a competitive but balanced environment. Games are played both locally at Memorial Park in Pulaski and in nearby communities such as Allouez, giving athletes the opportunity to face a variety of opponents. The league emphasizes teamwork, growth, and confidence-building while providing a fun and supportive path for players who want to keep improving without the demands of tournament or travel-level play.

High School Leagues

Ages: 14 & up

High school softball offers players the chance to stay sharp and build on their skills throughout the summer. Teams participate in leagues organized near Preble and Allouez, providing regular competition and continued development in a fun, team-focused environment. In addition, players have the opportunity to compete in the annual Polka Days Softball Tournament held each July in Pulaski. For those interested in more extensive tournament play beyond this league, separate sign-up is available through the tournament programs.

Tournament Team Participation Policy

Players who register commit to attending the majority of scheduled games and tournaments. Each player is expected to miss no more than one tournament per season and no more than two mid-week games. Families who anticipate missing more should consider the league-only option. Pulaski Softball reserves the right to revoke a roster spot if participation requirements are not met.

Pulaski Softball Tournament Team Structure

Tournament teams are designed to compete with programs from other communities throughout Northeast Wisconsin. These games are competitive, and as such, playing time and position rotation are not guaranteed. Coaches will focus on team success, skill development, and preparing athletes for the next level of softball.

Please note that registration for the 12U and 14U does not automatically guarantee team placement. Player assessments will be held in late February to help determine rosters and ensure that every athlete is placed where they can best develop and compete.
