PULASKI GIRLS SOFTBALL 4K & KG LEAGUE

This is an instructional league designed to teach the fundamentals of the game. All players will hit off of a tee. No score will be kept. This level will use a T-ball for the game ball.

All practices/games will be played on Mondays and Wednesdays in the months of May and June. Teams will be shared in April. Complete schedule will be made available after mid-April.

Teams at this level will be supplied with a Tee (for hitting), balls, batting helmets, and two or three bats.

Players should dress comfortably to run and slide (softball pants or joggers). Players may wear tennis shoes or cleats. Each player will need their own glove. It is optional for a player to bring their own helmet and bat.

Objective: To teach the fundamentals of softball. To learn positions, hitting form, base running, throwing, catching, fielding and getting outs.

4K & KG league rules/goals 

We recognize that all players develop at different rates.  Also, you as the parent are your child's most important teacher. Below are the goals that we have set forth that we believe are age appropriate and would like to work towards.

TEE BALL

TERMINOLOGY:

Batter’s Box, Home Plate, 1st Base, 2nd Base, 3rd Base, Pitcher’s Circle, Tee, Name of All Positions & Where to Line up, Foul Ball, Manner’s and being a good Teammate

PLAYER/TEAM EXPECTATIONS:

How to hustle on/off field, How to run bases, Positions, How to sit on bench and cheer for your teammates, Ready fielding position (wide stance and glove out in front), how to hold bat (hands together on the bat and knocking knuckles lined up) & stand behind the ball on a tee, basic throwing position & mechanics.
